In recent months Project Cauã has advanced considerably in achieving the ideals of sustainability, social and digital inclusion in Brazil and Latin America. As a first step a business model and service-based technology solution for home entertainment is being created to achieve these goals. This solution includes a home computer capable of storing images, documents, videos, music and games, which will be installed and maintained by System Administrators accredited by Project Cauã regionally.

While this project is still far from what was envisioned as the “Home Automation” part of Project Cauã, it is a strategic first step that will let us prove some of the underlying premises of the model.

This current project, its features and market performance will be presented during the Latinoware 2011 (Latin American Free Software Conference), to be held in Foz do Iguaçu – Brazil on October 19th to 21st. Jon "maddog" Hall and the Project Cauã team will present at the event about the new perspectives of the project.

This is the strategic moment where we need your cooperation to leverage Project Cauã to a new stratosphere of technology services. If you are interested in becoming a Systems Administrator/ Entrepreneur, sign up on our site www.projectcaua.org and participate in our research to characterize your potential for owning a Systems Administrator Business.

Note that since Project Cauã is based on Free Software and the ability of the Entrepreneur to support it, we are looking for people who are certified to the LPIC-2 certification.

For those people who are not LPIC certified at this point, we invite you to follow along with the program, to use the software and contribute to its evolution, and to study to meet the LPIC certifications.
